Celebrating 100 years with Chalk & Gibbs

I am joined today by our NC Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey and our State Senator Norman Sanderson as we celebrated the 100th anniversary of our hometown Chalk and Gibbs Insurance and Real Estate Company. C&G is a mutigenerational company with a younger generation being groomed for when their time comes to take the helm of the family business. The presence of Commissioner Causey and Senator Sanderson speaks volumes about the importance of relationships. Morehead City is not an island; it takes strong and trusting relationships locally and throughout the state to ensure the success of any community and business. I am proud to have been with them as we recognized a cornerstone MHC business, and all C&G has given and continues to give back to our community. For all this and more, I am proud to be your Mayor!
