MY GOALS
Always Moving Forward,
Always Planning for Success
The principal basis for manageable and substantiable goals is to always be looking and moving forward, but not at the expense of the past and the uniqueness of your community. Morehead City's unique identity is why people choose to visit, live, work and play here.
I realize we are visual people, and if we don’t see any tangible items, we sometime feel like things aren’t happening. However, planning and goals are always foremost in my everyday activities. I as your mayor, along with the city council and staff, am always looking for way to improve and to be more efficient in your city’s daily activities and public service. When these positive thoughts and actions are taken, goals will be created and come to fruition.
There are tangible goals I am working on, but my primary goals are and have always been as follows;
-
Communication
-
Have a kind heart and listen to my community.
-
Treat everyone the same.
-
Maintaining our present infrastructure, making sure our roads, water, waste disposal, facilities, equipment, etc. are adequate and in good working order.
-
Ensuring our personnel is trained and efficient.
-
Maintaining a good working relationship with the city council, our citizens, our businesses, our county and state governments and our neighboring towns and agencies. Being marooned on an island doesn’t help anyone.
By following the items listed above, good things have and will continue to happen making our city the gem we want her to be.
